“your love is there for me… it’s what you make for us to take”
is more or less the opposite of
“And in the end the love you take / Is equal to the love you make”
If an echo of George’s rhyme was in Paul’s mind – and it’s possible – he took it and transformed it and deepened it. But really it’s a commomnplace rhyme in itself and i don’t see the need to connect it with All Too Much, any more than, say, “take a sad song and make it better” (Hey Jude), or “take it easy . . . make it easy” (Everybody’s Got Something to Hide). And it comes around all the time in different shapes: “Every breath you take / every move you make” (Police)

The Beatles appear to have been a “the whole greater than the sum of the parts” kind of phenomenon … like many bands have been.

All these years I’ve only heard eight mini-solo and I’ve always figured they cut one out for some reason. But today I listened really hard since everyone here says that there are nine. I finally distinguished them all. I think that I couldn’t tell where Paul’s first ended and George’s first started.

Just as family or roomies tend to talk alike after a few years, musicians play alike, especially if they are improvising or are writing new material to play together. The first account I read of the solo order put Paul first. A guitarist friend with perfect pitch said George was first. If they ever heard each other’s music, the three Beatles guitarists routinely stole the ideas they liked most. When you put it all together, it sounds good; and that was the reason they did that.

For me the only mistake The Beatles ever made, in an otherwise remarkably sure-footed career, was tacking Her Majesty on to The End. They knew it was the last album, and The End has the *perfect* sign-off with those words. The farewell, that could have been in this glorious song is simply trampled on by Her Majesty. Can I blame someone? ?

Ringo said no drum solos. On the album cover Ringo has a beard and on “The End” he was forced to do a drum solo. Band over.
It’s true, but just joking here. “The End” is the most fitting exit for the greatest phenomena in the history of entertainment (sorry Barnum & Bailey, but you didn’t have mass communication or electric amplification). The riff rocks spectacularly, the solos are rockin’, artistic and emotional. It’s pure excitement and fun followed by the loan staccato piano, profound lyric and gorgeous guitar with orchestration. It’s untoppable! Then a prolonged silence and the exclamation point of “Her Majesty”. The best band the world will ever hear.

I’ve heard they copied the backing track in the solos part, but can’t find any proof of that.
Also, everyone speaks of drums overdubs: but what, and where?
I for sure hear a second opened hi-hat “confusing” things through the end. Maybe to cover the length edits?
Anyone knows more about this?
