yes “wonderful tonight” was Eric’s song to Pattie. no doubt the change of book title had to do with that. The UK version with Today was perhaps not her intent and it was corrected.

I’ve alwsys felt the live versions lacklustre compared to the finished album track and never cut my emotions as much when played live – I think you have a good point .

What you probably thinking of is the version found on Anthology 3. That is the demo version of Harrison playing unaccompanied on his Fender Telecaster I believe. He had yet to finish the lyrics for the song at that point. I don’t no if that was the first play through for the boys, but apparently they were all highly impressed, and rightfully so.

is there an acoustic version by harrison alone? during the beatles? not the instrumental. it’s definatly a studio version. i believe it’s harrison’s vocals alone. i can’t seem to find it anywhere. it was so beautiful and powerful 🙁

Harrison had a distinctive way of choosing notes to play and bend (like the bend of the 5th to the sixth in this song and for example Dig a Pony, if I recall correctly) quite different from the usual pentatonics mostly used by Clapton and a host of others and was much more likely to do chord based things (like to move from F to C here), so this song is not too much different from his single note playing in other songs. Supposedly he used an LP here also, when Clapton was also using HB’s, I believe.

I confirmed with the mogg files. The claps are during the “You’re asking me will my love grow” segment immediately after Ringo’s cymbal trills. Hard to hear without isolating the drum track.

This has already been asked here but nobody seems to have an answer, where exactly are the handclaps on this song? People seem adamant that they are there but I can’t seem to hear them anywhere unless they are deep within the mix or hidden under the sound of the snare.

Does anyone have a definitive answer to which bass Paul played on Something? Some people have it that he used his Ric but an equal number say it was the Höfner? Many thanks

You have no idea what you're talking about. It's George through and through. For proof, listen to this George Harrison concert, where he actually plays the song with Eric Clapton - the bulk of the all guitar, including intro solo, outro solo, and first main solo, is all George - Eric only plays the 2nd main solo - you listen that entire song, which had thousands watching it live, and tell me the recorded version isn't all George. You're out of your mind!
