Yank, here. I don’t think that I ever heard this song until after I crewed a sailboat from Oban to Cork. As we fought the currents between Islay and the Mull of Kintyre to reach the Irish Sea, our skipper mentioned that Paul McCartney had written a hit song about it the Mull. I looked it up after I got home, and now I can’t get it out of my head. Beautiful song.

I remember reading a biography about Paul where it says that Paul brought the right to the song from co-writer Denny Lane as mr. Lane needed money to pay an unseattled tax-bill. Can anyone confirm that story?

I Love this song, Mull of Kyntire, maybe because my last name is Bruce. But I’ll always remember seeing it on American television in 77 or 78. And I’ve never 4-gotten it.

When ever I here this song , it reminds me of Christmas 1977. Mum and Dad bought it. It must be the fact that Dad’s parents were Scots, but I love this song. The promotional video that went with it was brilliant.
