In fact the whole album picks up where McCartney left off on side two of Abbey Road. Jet is my favorite song on the album, from the time I first heard it on the radio.

Wonderful vocals and musicianship. Songs, Band on the Run, Jet,Let Me Roll It, Mrs Vanderbilt and Nineteen and Hundred and Eighty Five are classics. All the songs are great , showing the full range of McCartneys talents and styles. The circumstances it was recorded in are legendary. A true triumph over adversity.

I mean, who knows, of course, but it seems like Paul is channeling John’s melodic profile here, which probably in part accounts for the fact that this is one of his post-Beatle classics.
