Opinions are like backsides – everyone’s got one.

Flaming Pie is the only post-Beatles album by Paul that I like and the only one I own. Yes, specific songs along the way were great, but all the albums are too full of “hollow filler” and half-baked ideas.
This one is his strongest overall.

Somedays is not outright bad, but somewhat boring. The middle eights are better than the verse refrains.

Eleven diluted and hollow songs from Paul, á la himself post the Beatles era, one okay song and three good.

The Flaming pie song has something, though a Swedish rock journalist once called it “old men´s rock”. Souvenir is one of McCartney´s best songs since his partnership with Lennon ended, Little willow is beautiful, as is Calico skies. In hindsight Calico skies has lost some of its initial freshness.

Musically Souvenir resembles Maybe I´m amazed.

“Somedays” ranks with his best. It’s a good album. Jeff Lynne always seemed to bring out the best in established stars (Harrison, Orbison, Petty, McCartney).

“Calico skies” is my favourite , the rest is pleasant to the ear
