The Anthology version actually mixed two separate parts of the 1980 interview. In the first Lennon talks about the Plastic Ono gig in Toronto, but in the second bit (“amps as big as a peanut”) he seems to have been talking about the Rock And Roll Circus and how it differed from the Beatles’ touring days. I’ve left in just the first bit as it’s relevant here.

It’s from 6th December 1980 radio interview with Andy Peebles. Also John said jokingly in this quote ,,I wanna hold your HEAD” as he hated the Beatle screaming shows. I hope it helps.
