i would love to get the opinions on what anyone thinks is being said in “Devil’s Radio” off Cloud 9…. those weird, quick, tin-can, background ramblings… if you know the song, you know what i mean.

” Cheer Down ” is another great song, this was of course George’s contribution to the” Lethal Weapon” soundtrack. It’s flip side ” That’s What It Takes ” from the ” Cloud Nine ” album is a lovely song as well.

I just “discovered”, not that it was lost of course, the song “This is Love”. What a great song, can’t say enough good things about this one. Whoever had the idea of George playing his guitar on the beach with the waves breaking behind him was a genius. Brilliant. Of course, it’s my latest “kick” and now I can’t stop listening to the song and/or watching that video. Oh well, at least it’s not hurting anyone. I’m honored to be accepted as part of his “This is Love” club, and will enjoy talking about the person he was and the wonderful music he left us to always be able to listen to, love the lyrics the most and I try to really learn them so that I can sing along. That’s the best part, singing with him.

To just add some more from a few weeks ago. My Sweet Lord and What Is Life were songs I heard on the radio as a kid and completely loved. Many years later after obtaining a copy of All Things Must Pass, songs such as Isn’t It A Pity I recognized as a classic. Beware of Darkness is a personal favorite of mine. A brilliant song.

Many of George Harrisons best songs are on All Things Must Pass his greatest album and a all time classic. I have spoken about them elsewhere on this website. Just to mention some of my personal favorites off other albums of his.Give Me Love,( Give Me Peace On Earth), off Living In The Material World was a huge hit and is a lovely song. On the album Dark Horse , I think the song of that same name is great. I dont care what anyone says but I love Ding Dong,Ding Dong. Off Extra Texture,the single You is a fine song.I think the album 33 and a Third is underrated, released in 1976 it is a refreshing one after the trials and tribulations of the previous couple of years. This Song is outstanding but one of my all time George Harrison favorites is Crackerbox Palace.I remember hearing it on the radio when it was released as a single and loving it. From earlier in his career the single Bangladesh is a fine song. The 1979 self titled album George Harrison is also underrated and a great listen. The single off it Blow Away is one of my favorites of Georges solo career, I loved it when it came out and still do . The album Somewhere In England, like the previous two is also underrated. The shocking news of John Lennons murder came in the midst of this albums recording and for obvious reasons cast a huge shadow . I love Georges tribute to his friend, former bandmate and sometime mentor John Lennon, All Those Years Ago. Teardrops is another great song. Whilst Gone Troppo is not his best I do like the title track. 1987s Cloud Nine is one of the best solo Beatles albums and a real return to form for Harrison. It includes the great cover and world wide smash hit Got My Mind Set On You. As well as other great songs This Is Love, When We Was Fab and Cloud Nine. Obviously this album lead to the formation of the wonderful Traveling Wilburys and great hits like Handle With Care and The End of The Line that George Harrison was a major contributor to. I rate the album Brainwashed released after his death as one of his best and in the top draw of solo Beatles works. His son Dhani saw the completion of this after his death. The title track Brainwashed is a great song,George Harrison at his finest. Other great songs include Pisces Fish,Looking For My Life,Stuck Inside A Cloud,Never Get Over You,in fact the whole album. It is a tribute to George Harrison that he carried on making great music like this with health in such serious decline. Olivia Harrison,( like Yoko Ono with John Lennons) , deserves alot of credit for overseeing the remastering of her late husbands solo back catalogue.
